How can I be a more effective instructor?

 1) A question for future students:

What are some things that your instructors in the past have done, to provide you with the most clarity possible, to help you succeed in the classroom?

During the reading, I started thinking about how we, as educators could get feedback directly from our students as to how they learned best. I know during my own time in school, I was always getting the most out of a lesson when my hands were occupied. As a future instructor, I know that I cannot provide quality education, if I am only doing what works for me. That is one thing that makes me excited because I get to use that variability in my lessons to my advantage.

2) A question for my cooperating teacher:

What are some creative resources that you have used that can aid me in lesson planning for my upcoming classes?

I know that one thing I struggle with is creativity. I can come up with awesome projects and activities for students to get hands on with, but when it comes to actual verbal delivery, I can be dry. Finding good resources that can help me add excitement to content delivery will go a long way in making me a better instructor.

3) A question for my cohort:

What can we, as soon to be educators, do to reinforce and reward high school aged students when they meet and exceed our expectations in the classroom, events or in their SAE projects?

A point that we have talked at many times in class is the idea of setting high expectations so our students can achieve more during their time with us. During the reading though, we came across the idea of reinforcement and reward for achieving those goals. I know this looks completely different in a high school setting as compared to the rewards you would get in elementary school, but I still think it is important to reward someone when a job is done well.
