How can I be a more effective instructor?

 1) A question for future students: What are some things that your instructors in the past have done, to provide you with the most clarity possible, to help you succeed in the classroom? During the reading, I started thinking about how we, as educators could get feedback directly from our students as to how they learned best. I know during my own time in school, I was always getting the most out of a lesson when my hands were occupied. As a future instructor, I know that I cannot provide quality education, if I am only doing what works for me. That is one thing that makes me excited because I get to use that variability in my lessons to my advantage. 2) A question for my cooperating teacher: What are some creative resources that you have used that can aid me in lesson planning for my upcoming classes? RTL Reflection

o What happened? I think objectives of my lesson were covered correctly. The lesson that I picked did not have an activity that went along with it like some of my peers. I think that my lesson came off as rather boring unlike some of my peers. o How does it relate to what I know about teaching and learning? I know that I was stumbling through my lesson so, I know for the future that I need to be better prepared. o What did I learn from the experience? More preparation Finding a way to calm my nerves when presenting in front of my peers. A tip from Carson on keeping a note card as a cheat sheet with me that will help me stay on track o How can I apply this as an Agriscience teacher? Making sure that I am prepared and having all of my materials ready and organized will help me to be a more successful instructor!
